Service.com (Idea)
Service is the Mission.
β’ I am going to introduce a series of successful companies and their missions to illustrate what potential your company has, why it matters and where your company needs to go from where it is to where it can be. The opportunity in front of you is bigger than you have ever imagined.
β’ Yesterday, a company of which I owned stock (Matterprt, $MTTR) was bought out by a much larger compny. CoStar Group, the buyer (apartments.com, etc., $CSGP), is an example of why you should buy Service.com for ~$4-6 million (it is available for a minimum bid of $4 million). Better yet, pay $100k to option the domain name for 5 years). CoStar Group owns apartments.com and other go to destinations.
β’ Let's work together. We shiolud become the go to destination for using AI to find the best service providers for each customer. Some are more price insensitive but want the best service available. Some want decent service but cannot afford premium pricing. Offer something to everyone.
° The mission of Netflix is "To Entertain the World." The mission of ServiceFix should be "To Service the World."
β’ Build the company around the mission "To Service the World."
β’ Abundance has its benefits and its drawbacks. Riding the cost curve of technology and making more service available for less cost will lead to some companies providing incredible services at ridiculously low prices.
β’ Use Costco ($COST) as an example. Costco makes most of its profit from its subscription fees. Have people subscribe to the Service.com community. Connect them with the best service providers for the most reasonable price. Customers are also bombarded with advertising and offers. Offer more signal (solution to the problem) and less noise.
β’Β The best service is not the cheapest service but it is also priced so that the businesses offering the services can afford proper insurance, training for employees and paying decent salaries and benefits. Our business will also help these service providers by offering the best back office hardware and software solutions for each business (bookkeeping and accounting, payroll, purchasing, web and technology solutions, etc.).
β’ Use content marketing to educate people about the cost of paying too little and the benefits of paying more. Spread the work among service providers based on their ratings. Those that want the best will pay premium prices. Those that want or need to save money can take the next best offer such that everyone gets service at a price they can afford.
β’ Service businesses will benefit from access to technology at lower cost while offering better service. Use Shopify ($SHOP) as an example. Shopify helps businesses to grow by giving their customers the technology tools to grow.
β’ The mission of Coinbase ($COIN) is to "to increase economic freedom in the world." Helping service businesses move from the anolog world to the digital world will increase their profits and improve their economic freedom.
β’ Use Tesla ($TSLA) as an example. Tesla is drastically lowering the cost of owning a vehicle while making that vehicle safer to use and better for the environment. Tesla drove down the cost of transportation and energy storage so more people could afford their products and helped to achieve their company's mission: "To accelerate the transition to clean energy."
β’Β As technology improves, more services are available at lower cost while improving the lives of both the workers and the environment. It is necessary to have a "take no prisoners" attitude (uncompromising) about this.
β’Β Instead of carving out a percentage of the money the customer pays for the service, pay all of the money to the service provider minus all costs of operating your business but charge customers a membership fee as a way to make profit.
